Parents,
As most of you know, your
student is not quite the grown-up adult they think they are, but way past the
children we still wish they were. This is a very difficult time for all of you,
some of you will suffer terrible “empty-nest” syndrome & separation
anxiety; while others will rejoice in having the extra bedroom for storing the
“junk” or just having a little peace & quite in your house for the first
time in 18 years. What makes us so unique & elite is the opportunity to be
a part of your college student’s new life, other than just signing the tuition
checks & opening the pocketbook. You can be as active as you choose to be
as a volunteer parent for campus events or you can merely enjoy the parking
pass & the Parent’s Guide, which contains information gained by those of us
who have learned our lessons the hard way. We are happy to offer our support to
you & share advice with you if you desire. We also take your membership fee
& funnel these funds back into the University to the students & faculty
by sponsoring emergency loan funds, purchasing items for the students to
enhance their student life and also assist in funding events to offer support
to the students & faculty during campus events. Through the Parents
Association, you will be able to stay in touch with and share your student's
world be they a commuter, cadet, resident male or female.
